Love these lyrics. They are written by Joel Birch. Someone who makes life inspiring. Someone who writes masterpieces.

I think it's about being thankful for the bounties you have received. He is thanking all his loved ones and people who are close to him. He's saying, "Yes I've stuffed up." - "If I hurt you, if I let you down..." and then goes on to say, "It's all of your strength that got me through it."

Particularly in the case of depression, Joel could be alluding to how with this condition he tends to do actions that are regrettable to him. Where he has made mistakes in his life that has, "lead me down that path." Maybe a toxic path that he wants to leave behind.

The optimism is highlighted in the song, and is brought forward by the charming chorus, Joel doesn't hide how hopeful he is. "But in each one of us, there is hope for fresh starts."

This allows the listener to feel empowered. The inclusivity of 'us' implies that we've all been "down that path" before. But as a collective these people can rebuild their life.

There is a certain power that rings through the chorus. It allows for a bright dialogue over recovering from events in our life that we aren't happy about. Which is what makes it empowering for the audience.

If there is one gift, the gift of sharing positive messages through music is so beautiful.

Green's Avenue - The Amity Affliction Lyrics

"I'll never know what led me down that path

What made me lose my grasp, what made me lose my grasp

But now the years have passed, and I know in my heart

No matter where I am, I won't follow that path

There are things that I've said, there are people I've hurt

There are moments in time when I've been down in the dirt

And I know that it's hard to let go of our pasts

But in each one of us there is hope for fresh starts

So if I hurt you, if I let you down

Just remember we were close, we were down, down

I found life, I found this

And it's all of your strength got me through it

Just know that I know you went through the same shit

Even if you were too fucking proud to admit

So brothers in arms, brothers in arms

So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm

Towards oceans and shorelines with open arms

So if I hurt you, if I let you down

Just remember we were close, we were down, down

I found life, I found this

And it's all of your strength got me through it

So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm

Towards oceans and shorelines with open arms

So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm

Towards oceans and shorelines with open arms

So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm

Towards oceans and shorelines with open arms

So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm

Towards oceans and shorelines, with open arms

So if I hurt you, if I let you down

Just remember we were close, we were down, down

I found life, I found this

And it's all of your strength got me through it

I'll never know what led me down that path

What made me lose my grasp, what made me lose my grasp

But now the years have passed, and I know in my heart

No matter where I am, I won't follow that path"
